Our Mission: To continue the philosophy and methods of non-violence, as demonstrated by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We accomplish this by emulating his principles, pursuing peace and justice through non-violent action, and educating to empower the people of Prince George’s County Maryland, specifically, and the world, in general, for effective social, economic, political and spiritual change.
Our Purpose: Dr. King’s dream was for all America to be a spiritually, morally, economically, and socially just and equal nation. Until Dr. King’s vision becomes a reality, we will continue the struggle until it is fully realized.
The Southern Christian Leadership Conference is a non-sectarian inter-faith advocacy organization that is committed to non-violent action to achieve social, economic, and political justice.
